The crow was at it at 5.20 again yesterday. Tapping on the window to act as our alarm clock. Strange as it may seem my Mistress was none too pleased and took action immediately. She has concluded that it’s to do with the way the light is on the window at that time of day. It means the crow can see his own reflection and thinks there is another crow. Anyway, she has put a teddy bear on the window sill looking out, so that it is likely the crow will see the bear. Whether her theory is right, it has certainly worked and the crow has gone off to find someone else’s window to peck. As she said, if she could have set the time on the crow as she does with her alarm clock then it would not have been so bad!
We have got good news on the carrot front. They have finally come through which means our Mistress can now tell which are the weeds and take them out. She’s been a bit reluctant until now for fear of removing the carrots. It would have helped if she could remember from last year what carrots look like when they first come through. She really isn’t very good at this gardening lark.
We have also heard that Tosca, the girl in Switzerland we may have a puppy from, has come into season. It does mean that her puppies will definitely not be born on our Mistress’s birthday. They will be born around the end of July. It’s very exciting and we send her all our best wishes and hope her matings with the stud dog go well. We just have to wait for Shadow’s season to start now, but she isn’t giving us too much of a clue yet.
