Well hello there, it’s Aristotle here again. I’ve just had to put up with one of Alfie’s ‘The youth of today’ lectures. You know what it’s like. I made the mistake of saying I couldn’t see the point in voting, even if I were allowed to. He said it was attitudes like that which had got us into this mess in the first place and I should show more gratitude for the work my forebears had put in. I said ‘wasn’t it usually three bears in the story?’, but he didn’t seem to think that was funny. I know I’m supposed to be an adult now, but I see myself more as a playdog figure rather than a dog to take life too seriously. I’m sure when Alfie was young he lived a more carefree lifestyle, although looking back through his diary I can find scant evidence of that. He had a phase where he was rather taken with eating acorns and jumping over streams, but to be honest I don’t think he was ever a frivolous carefree sort of dog. He’s really missed out when you think about it. All that naughtiness he could have been up to and instead he was being a good serious little chap. I do my best to make up for him, but I guess a little more naughtiness wouldn’t go amiss. If you’ve got any suggestions for pranks I should be pulling on him just to liven things up then you should let me know and I’ll see if I can put them to good use. For the time being, I’ve given up on the idea of choosing a career in favour of being a dog of leisure… and maybe a little mischief!
