Did I want to go to Crufts? No! Am I going to Crufts? Yes! I am the emergency stand-in for Shadow. She had the misfortune to do a back-roll over Aristotle off the settee yesterday and has damaged her cruciate ligament. We don’t know if it is torn yet, she is so stoical that she won’t tell us exactly how much it hurts. Anyway, she’s been prescribed complete rest and anti-inflammatories for a week and then has to go back to see the vet again next Monday. If it hasn’t solved it she will need an x-ray and possibly an operation. What it does mean is that she cannot go and cover our stand at Discover Dogs. Now the noise and all the dogs there is my idea of hell, but it was either that or Aristotle go and his leg will play up if he has to walk in and out 3 days running. Not just that, but he’s at the age where he wants to vie for top dog and he won’t be so keen to share the stand with other male dogs. I’m 9 years old for goodness sake, I should be retired! It will at least mean I can keep working on the broadcast with our Mistress and it will mean some quality time for the two of us. We need Shadow to get her leg sorted out before her next trip to Switzerland.
When I looked out of the window yesterday it was as though someone had set one of those snow-machines going. There was snow blowing in some very odd directions. It didn’t last long but it was really quite fun to watch it. I blame our Mistress for having taken the snow-tyres off the car. It was bound to lead to a spell of bad weather!
