Saturday 13th December 2014 – How’ve you been? Oh – and Basil!

It’s Ari here again. It’s been a funny week. I’ve been a bit insecure and needing lots of love. It’s all very well laughing at me for the incident with the dog shadow on the hedge, but it scared me. That and the dog on the tv. Anyway, my Mistress is getting me one of those special collars that’s supposed to help me to stay calm for when she goes away with Shadow. She thought it might help. She’s going to sleep with one of my blankets too so that I can snuggle up to it in bed and feel she’s still there.

I’m back to one of my brothers from the ‘B’ litter today. Basil or Beethoven to give him his original name, was always trouble when he was a puppy. ‘Too bright for his own good,’ may have been the words my Mistress used, but then she says that about me so he can’t be all trouble. This is what he’s written to me:

Basil 1

Hi Bro!

It’s early but since my little sis got mum up for cuddles I’m taking the opportunity to email you my update.

Basil 3

So, how has life been since leaving the pen and puppy pack? Great! I have my very own dog walking business (ok it’s not mine as such, but I like to tell the others that it’s my business, my van, I’m in charge, rooooo). I have a career as a show dog which I am told is a very important role as it is helping our breed get recognition. We have good days and bad at shows depending on my mood but I’m told whatever happens I’m always going to be the best in my mum’s eyes *waggy tail*. I have had some success winning best import twice and being in the dog newspaper making me famous too, just like Uncle Alfie and his diary (though I think it’ll be a long time until I’m that well known!) I do agility too which is great fun I just love it! I have no fear, so climbing heights, the see-saw, running into a collapsible tunnel into the dark do not phase me at all, I am so brave! (Edit Robyn here, Basil is not as brave as he makes out being he spent the first few months with me scared of the dark and will scream if you touch his feet! He likes to act all brave and tough but when it comes to it, he’s a mummy’s boy)

The biggest bit of news though is that I am now a big brother! My little sister Skye came into the world and I was told that now I am 2, I have an important role of being a good big bro and that I need to grow up now I’m no longer the baby of the household. Well what can I say, she’s cute n all but I can’t be good ALL the time *waggy tail*

Oh and here are some photos. I see you want outfits, I say no you don’t! Look what they do to me, they make me calm!
