Thursday 27th November 2014 – Week two begins

So the pantomime run restarts tonight. It means boring evenings for us, but on the bright side it also means more family coming to stay so extra pairs of hands to stroke us. I’m looking forward to hearing whether the mouse has been up to no good again, but it will probably be Ari that gets to tell you as I don’t get an update from them before I write my diary in the morning as I get up too early.

I’ve been a bit slow and sleepy the last couple of days. It may just be the cold weather, but this getting old thing is really hard to take. Having said that, even Ari has been a bit quiet so maybe it’s just the time of year – that and the effect of a nice warm log fire to sit in front of. We didn’t get out for a long walk yesterday as my Mistress was waiting in for a delivery. The really annoying thing was that when they tried to deliver it the first time they put a card through the door to say we were not in when we were. They had not even rung the bell. Our Mistress was fuming. It wouldn’t be so bad but we live miles from the collection depot. To be fair, we live miles from most places, but that’s not the point. She is going to write to the company and say it’s crazy insisting on the parcel being signed for and she won’t use them again. At least she will write to them when she finds out which parcel it is, seeing as almost all her Christmas shopping has been done online. I presume it’s one of her deliveries and not our dog food. I shall feel a bit sheepish if we missed alerting her to a dog food delivery!
