Yesterday I thought I was in for a quiet day, but we had a phone call to say there was a cancellation at swimming, would I like to go. Sadly, I didn’t answer the phone as the answer would definitely have been ‘no’. It didn’t matter that I was mouthing ‘no’ in the background, my Mistress took notice whatsoever and said I would be delighted for the chance to go swimming. Which bit of ‘Not in a month of Sundays’ did she not understand? It wasn’t too bad even through Ari was being a right royal pain. It was his birthday and he wasn’t going to let any of us forget it. I did have to laugh though, we went to Pets at Home before swimming and he kept saying ‘This will be for my presents, you just see.’ Anyway, as it turned out it was for prizes for the fun day and none of it was for Ari, so I got the last laugh and he sulked. We heard from some of his brothers and sisters and he was just sad that he wouldn’t be seeing them all. It’s always good to hear they are doing ok. Unlike Ari, most of them seem to be growing up. He just stays a perpetual puppy – an irritating one at that!
I’m writing this from my grandparents where I’m staying for the weekend. There was a bit of a discussion on where I would be sleeping, but I said their bedroom would suit me fine, although I lost the discussion about being on the actual bed. Regrettably my Mistress has remembered to bring my bed with me and made it clear that I was quite ok sleeping in it. Sometimes she is a real killjoy!
We had an email yesterday to say that in principal there is agreement for Shadow to mate with the dog we have asked for. We just need to get in touch when the date is clearer so that we can check he is available. It is a dog my Mistress has met and she is sure Shadow will like him. He’s younger than Shadow so I teased her a bit.
