Friday 19th September 2014 – Never simple

When my Mistress has an idea you know it’s going to get complicated. It all started with the thought of taking out a bush and putting in a pergola. Now when we moved here, the fence at the bottom of the garden was built to go round some trees and while it was behind the bush it didn’t really matter. Now the bush is all but gone, my Mistress has realised how much garden we are losing because of where the fence is and that we might like to have better access to the big trees to stop me peeing on the little ones. She’s worked out that we are losing about 64sq feet of garden at the moment and that’s more room to play in. She also realised that if the fence were ever moved then the patio she is putting in would be in a funny place. Then she started looking at the rest of the garden. The gate needs to be repaired which has made her ask the question why is it at the back of the house when if it were at the front we would have more room to run about. What started as a smallish job has suddenly become a large scale operation. I’m just going to put my paws over my eyes and hope it all goes away. I don’t need to do much running these days, the garden is big enough for me as it is. I was happy with the idea of a sunny area to sit and I don’t really mind where she puts it as long as I can lie down comfortably and enjoy it.

Having seen some of the challenges, I’m glad I’m not going to Fun Day – what do I want with a time obedience course. Isn’t it enough that I can do those things without having to prove it? As for a time agility course, I just don’t need to move that fast. Ari is going to fail at both of them, but Shadow might do ok if she is feeling obliging, which she often isn’t!
