Where do I start on yesterday? I went through a tunnel on an open train in the car. My Mistress didn’t really like it, but I snoozed my way through the Kandersteg Tunnel. Then when we got to Täsche having driven on some very VERY windy roads, we had to get a train to Zermatt so we could see the Matterhorn. I had to have my very own ticket on the train. Here I am with my ticket, it actually says Hund, that’s me. Anyway, we had lunch in Zermatt and a bit of a walk round and then we went on my first ever Funicular railway. We went all the way up a mountain to Gornergrat on a little train. I perched myself across my Mistress’s lap so I could see out of the window and there were some amazing sights. There were places where the land just seemed to disappear. Then there were waterfalls and glaciers. The sad bit was when we got to the top the clouds had come down, so we couldn’t actually see anything except fog. We tried to imagine being able to see the Matterhorn, but that’s not very easy if you aren’t sure what it should look like. We did see a marmot on the way down, which my Mistress got very excited about. I can now safely say that I am a Swiss Mountain Dog who has been 10,000 feet up a Swiss Mountain. We saw a St Bernard up there too, so I wasn’t the only one discovering my roots. Lots of people thought I was cute, so I had to deal with the obligatory offering myself to be stroked. It’s a hard job, but somebody has to do it. I was worn out on the journey home and ready for bed by 8pm.
I don’t know what we’re doing today. I think it depends on the weather.
