It’s our Mistress’s birthday today, not quite a big one, but she is still shocked to think just how old she is. She’s not doing anything different for the day but regrettably has decided to take me swimming rather than Aristotle. Partly it is because I haven’t wanted to walk, whereas Ari is doing very well with his walking and partly it is so we get to spend some time together on her birthday. Oh yes, and my grandparents are here and they have already seen Ari swimming so I am providing today’s entertainment!
Shadow seems to have a little more energy, but is still making the most of her illness. Yesterday she would only eat fresh roast turkey and then my Mistress resorted to cooking her finest mince so she wouldn’t be able to pick it out from amongst the rice quite so easily. She didn’t go for a walk, but if she’s feeling a little stronger may go out for one today. It’s been a bit of a week for it. My Mistress has been fighting off the cold my Master had last week and then she went and broke a filling so had to go to the dentist. I’m hoping that they won’t pass any of their germs my way as I’ve been feeling very well, in a sleepy sort of way and my teeth are just fine, which just goes to show that not drinking fizzy drinks is definitely the answer – or at least one of them.
I’m onto the revisions to my manifesto and it’s going well. I was delighted when my readers said they were enjoying reading it, so hopefully you will too when it comes out. The biggest question I have is whether I should actually stand for Parliament next year as well, or whether I’m too busy. It would be all well and good until I got elected and had to move to London. I’m not sure how that would work without my Mistress to look after me. I suppose she could come too, but she doesn’t really like cities.
