And so my holiday romance came to an end. Bella and I said goodbye and promised faithfully to write to each other. I could see her at the next fun day, but I’d already said I didn’t want to go and am planning to stay with my grandparents. I know she’d look after me with the other dogs, but I think I will stick with my original plan. I’ve got the post holiday blues at the moment. I know I’m still technically away, but without Bella it is so much less fun. I would have liked her to come home with me to put Shadow and Ari in their places so I didn’t get picked on, but sadly she lives near London, so it’s a bit far.
The journey back yesterday was very busy. It reminded my Mistress of all the reasons it’s not a good idea to travel on a Friday. Maybe next time she’ll remember before she does the bookings.
This is an exciting weekend as Hendrix is moving to live in the UK. Hendrix is a puppy who is joining our ranks and he will be collected by his new humans this Sunday. He will take our numbers back up to 49 I think, although I may need my Mistress to count again to make sure I’m right. He is moving to Devon, which is nice as there are already three of Shadow’s puppies down there, so hopefully he will get to meet them.
One of the worst bits about coming back from holiday is my Mistress saying I need to crack on with my writing now I’m back. She’s a hard task master and says she wants my finished first draft by the end of the month. I was rather hoping for a few days to put my paws up.
