No sooner is my Mistress home than she is starting to pack for her America trip. She has promised to wear her paw print necklace while she is away and think about us often. She’s also promised to ring me every day. I just have to remind my Master to water the vegetables and put the bins out on the right day – what could possibly go wrong? If the rubbish is not collected it won’t be the end of the world, but if the vegetables die I will be in serious trouble – they are looking very healthy now so it will be entirely my fault if they are not looking good when she gets back. At least this time my Mistress is trying to be sensitive to my dislike of suitcases and is packing in a different room so that I don’t realise what is going on. I don’t really know who she thinks she’s fooling, but it’s a nice thought. At least she’s trying spare my feelings. I get terribly clingy when I see the suitcase. What is funny is seeing her trying to wobble on the scales holding the suitcase and reading the overall weight. Then she has to deduct her own weight so she can find what the suitcase weighs. She can take 20kg and so far the case weighs 4.5 and her food about another 5, so she is going to have to limit the rest of her packing to the bare minimum. At least it’s warmer there so she shouldn’t need too much in the way of coats and jumpers. Of course she could just buy clothes as she goes to replace the weight of the food she will have eaten. I think as she packs and repacks it is going to be a long week!
