What is the world coming to? When we post pictures of the real puppies lots of people on Facebook like them but when we post pictures of our Ikea puppies no less than 119 people like the photo. It’s a sad day when stuffed toys are more popular than puppies! When she went to bed last night Shadow did check D’Artagnan was ok as he is the one left on the bed. I can’t tell you about the future of the other three, but they will all go to good homes. Anyway, after she’d checked him all over she shrugged and proceeded to wash his ears. She’s happy to adopt him even if she didn’t actually give birth to him.
On another worrying note, my Mistress is listening to a book by Aristotle. Not our Aristotle you understand, given the book is on Politics that would be more my department than his. No, this is a book by the Greek philosopher Aristotle who lived nearly 2400 years ago. He’s the one our Ari is named after. Anyway, the book is quite alarming in some of the views it expresses. Most of it is still relevant but she came away muttering something about women being grouped together with slaves and seemed relatively unimpressed. At this rate she will be changing Ari’s name to something a little more enlightened. Leaving the role of women aside, what is surprising is that the book could as easily have been written in modern times as so long ago. Although I’m guessing having slaves and discussing their position now, saying it is not only right but essential to be firm with them, might be frowned upon ever so slightly.
We are benefiting from my Mistress’s get fit attempts, combined with the good weather. We all went for lovely walks yesterday all separately not having to share her attention with the others. Ari said he’d have rather had one of us there, but frankly for me there is nothing better than having our Mistress all to myself on a glorious walk.
