Alas, if it were only one stupid person my household would be more normal. However, both of my humans deserve medals for yesterday for entirely separate incidents. My Mistress discovered in a very noisy fashion that she has had a wood burning stove fitted in a room with a smoke alarm. Once it went off it set off a chain reaction throughout the house which took a long time to sort out. Unfortunately a fire has little effect on the room temperature if you have to open all the windows. Now the problem she faces is that the ceiling is so high that she needs someone to go up the ladder to remove the battery. She is not safe on ladders as she has problems with balance. On the other paw, my Master is not safe on delicate jobs like battery removal. He generally takes the sledgehammer approach to things of that nature. Until it is sorted out there will be no more fires!
My Master on the other paw had to go to Manchester by train yesterday. He arrived at the station to find he didn’t have the credit card that had been used for the booking and could not collect his ticket. There are rules about these things and there was no way round his ticket collection except for him to buy another ticket and then later collect a refund (less administration fee) on the one he could not collect. He got quite cross with the people, particularly when they suggested it was for his protection. He missed the train he was supposed to be on. However, he bought a second ticket and got on the next train and then, too late, on putting his ticket away in his wallet he found he did have the right credit card with him after all.
You have got to worry about a poor dog growing up in a house with humans like those.
