Thursday 16th January 2014 – Day 19 in the little puppy house

IMG_0769It’s a good day today. The night before last the puppies and my Mistress had a bit of a discussion about the noise levels at night. She had asked them if they would mind being a little quieter after night feeds and they asked if she would stop snoring. Once they had got past the explanation that if they were asleep they wouldn’t hear her snoring they said they would sleep a lot better with the light off. That was funny, because my Mistress sleeps better with the light off too. Anyway she did turn it off and they went to sleep much more quickly. Last night they had the light off all night and although the woke for one night time feed at 1.30am they then slept through until 6.30am when it was my Mistress who woke them as she needed the loo. What it means is that everyone is less grouchy this morning, which has to be good news. It’s the longest unbroken sleep my Mistress has had in three weeks!

In our village the Newspaper Fairy calls every so often and leaves a pile of newspapers outside our front door for the puppies. Obviously I tell them it’s the Newspaper Fairy, in reality it’s our next door neighbour! My Mistress is always very grateful as you would be amazed just how much waste six small puppies can generate. Which brings me on to the small matter of smell. When my Mistress went in to see them yesterday the smell was horrible. You’d think that was a cause for compliant but it wasn’t. My Mistress is thrilled to find they have moved on to pooing independently, which is another important stage of development. She was also delighted to see the poos were all formed properly, but the less said about all that the better.
