The balance of supplementing the puppies seems about right. Only Cuddles is struggling a little with what is happening. She had made a good gain the previous day but added only 34g to reach 940g yesterday. As my Mistress is waiting for her to reach 1kg before the bars come out they won’t be coming out today after all. Cosette is still the next lightest. She added 100g to reach 1100g. Cinderella added 80g to reach 1150g and Cracker added 100g to reach 1180g. The boys are still out in front with Casanova adding 60g to reach 1210g and Chekov adding 60g to reach 1300g. Apart from their frustration at the lack of milk from Shadow they all seem to be doing remarkably well. It’s a shame about Shadow’s milk as we can’t do our favourite video for you. When the milk is plentiful and they are all in a little line feeding happily then all six tails would wag side to side rapidly as they eat. It’s a lovely site – right up there on the cute stakes.
The vet visit went well. All of the puppies are doing fine. Although she is smaller, Cuddles is perfectly proportioned and there is no need to be concerned about her weight. The vet says that Casanova’s leg is unchanged. She has never seen a line of little skin tags or warts on such a young puppy. If they cause him any bother as he gets older he could have them removed, but they may just disappear or be covered by fur and cause no problem at all. They are certainly nothing to be worried about, which of course was a relief to both Shadow and Casanova.
