Thursday 28th November 2013 – A Quieter Day

After yesterday’s excitement today I need to have a quiet day cracking on with some of my own writing. It’s all my Mistress’s fault. There she was on the radio saying the next book of ours that will be out will be the Pet Dogs Democratic Party Manifesto and here I am having barely written up the first policy. She’s asked me to come up with a proposed deadline. I had some ground to make up as I’d started the day by accidentally headbutting her in the face as I jumped into bed in the morning and gave her a thick bruised lip. I hit it so hard she was expecting to find blood and was relieved when there wasn’t. Anyway, she survived and her radio interview went ok. She thought it was going to be about her most recent book but they wanted to talk more about her and writing in general. She did get to put a plug in for The Lifetracer so it was worth it on that score. Then she said her next project was working with me on the manifesto. I’ve given it some thought and I’ve offered her a deal. If she will turn my first two books into paperbacks then I will get on with writing the next one. She says she thinks she can manage that for me – so I guess I had best get writing. She was in my good books as she’d been to the pet shop and had bought some fun things to fill the Kong with. It was really for Aristotle but I said I’d like a go so she left me to help myself and even shut Shadow in the other room with her so that she couldn’t stop me. The friend who bought it for Ari is coming to stay tonight so I can thank her personally again.
