Tuesday 5th November 2103 – Bonfire Night

Oh joy, it’s that time of year again. To be fair it doesn’t bother either me or Aristotle. Shadow is rather more highly strung and while she isn’t frightened, she does have a tendency to bark at the bangs as though she needs to tell us they are there. Given that we heard them the first time, her barking is the wrong side of superfluous. What usually happens is that she is dispatched to sit in the front room with our Master, as there aren’t usually any going off on that side of the house, while we get to watch them out of the office window in peace and quiet. I’m not really sure how many there will be seeing as there were a fair few to watch on Saturday night. At least being a small village, we don’t have to put up with them going off all night.

Our Mistress is struggling on with her genetics course. She already knows a lot more than she did this time last week, but I’m not really sure that puts her in a league where she stands any chance of passing the course. She says that she’s not too worried about passing as she has already learnt some useful things even though she’s still in the first week.

Aristotle is actually fed up that he can’t go swimming today. My Mistress has discovered that his injections have run out so she has to take him for his repeats but he can’t go until Friday. Until then she says he’s grounded. It’s all very odd as the vet’s reminder system is usually very good. I was pleased to check that my own are up to date as I didn’t particularly fancy having to go for mine.
