Saturday 19th October 2013 – A busy day

Today was supposed to be a quiet day of spending time together before my Mistress went away, but things never turn out the way you expect. Now my Mistress’ business is a bit bigger, and they publish lots of different books, she’s been finding out about going to Book Fayres and literary festivals to have a book stall. There’s one that isn’t too far from us that she had enquired about but all the stalls had gone. Well, yesterday afternoon she got an email saying someone had dropped out would she be interested. She was overjoyed and then had to frantically make sure she had everything she needed to run the stall. She will have to leave the house at about 7 to get there to set up. I said that if she didn’t mind I’d stay in bed and get up a little later. She’s very excited, but rather apprehensive as well. It means my Master is in charge for the day so it should be fairly quiet. We will all get incredibly excited when she comes home at the end of the day. In the meantime we can terrorise the gardener, which is always a good way to pass a Saturday afternoon.

I need to be here to answer the phone when the vet rings with the result of Shadow’s early progesterone test. We should get the result sometime around lunch. My Mistress is only expecting it to confirm that Shadow is still at early stages and that her travel arrangements are all good for leaving Tuesday. If she has to go any sooner it’s going to be a bit of a rush! There’s her breakfast cereal to make before she can go anywhere. She won’t leave without that.
