Megan is definitely home. When she got back my Master and Mistress took Shadow and Megan for a walk before Megan had so much as come in the house. Shadow growled at her as soon as she saw her but the walk sorted all that out and she was fine when she came in. They were so hot and tired from the walk that they weren’t ready to bother about anything and it was as though Megan had never been away. From the way the others were sniffing Megan I suspect her season is going to start very soon. I wasn’t prepared to get close enough to find out. It probably helped that Aristotle was tired from our time in kennels too. Yet again he’s found a new girlfriend. I don’t know how he does it. Every time we go anywhere a girl dog is smitten by Aristotle. He doesn’t have to do anything. Of course he completely makes the most of it and had a fantastic time playing with her. What is it that he’s got and I haven’t? Ok so he isn’t grumpy or middle aged, but I suspect there’s more to it than that. What is the ‘it’ factor in dogs?
By the time she’d done the driving and walked Megan, my Mistress’s hand was hurting quite a lot and was quite swollen. The problem is that she does not know the meaning of taking it easy. I’ve tried to lead by example but she’s not very good at it. I said ‘forget all the work’ bring a book and sit outside’. She just pointed out all the chores she’d notice that haven’t been done – like mowing the grass. She says she’s much happier to finish the chores and then sit down, but the problem is that she never finishes the chores.
