Basil did brilliantly on Sunday. He was taking part in the Windsor dog show and was in the Junior Dog section. Apart from his brother Dickens, the other dogs were older than he was and much more experienced. There were seven in his class in total and he came second. Sadly Dickens said he was too hot and had had enough long before the judging took place so he didn’t get placed. What a fantastic achievement for little Basil and yet again Shadow is walking round as though she owns the place.
We all had a sleepy day yesterday, much to my Mistress’s relief as it meant she could get on with some work. I was sad to see my bed go through the wash, but she’s been spring cleaning her bedroom and everything has been washed including the curtains. At least my bed didn’t shrink! Sadly the same cannot be said for the curtains. Or at least it can’t be said for half the curtains – the linings didn’t shrink but the bit on the outside did. It’s always the same – you do one job and create another – now she needs to turn the curtain linings up. I’m guessing seeing as she hasn’t yet turned up the curtains in the lounge from when we moved in over three years ago that it won’t be happening anytime soon!
My Mistress is fed up about the temperature difference between here and further south. Obviously not as far south as the South Pole, but further south in England. While they were driving home from the friends they visited at the weekend the temperature went down by five degrees between there and here and she said it was five degrees she could ill afford to lose! She even managed to get a little sunburnt on Saturday, which she certainly not something she’s managed to do here yet this year.
