Friday 7th June 2013 – At last!

At last the final vegetable seeds have come through. The butternut squash has been the last to show its little leaves, although to be fair to them they did get moved from their original pot. Well, in truth, not so much moved as abandoned and restarted as my Mistress couldn’t locate the original seed and needed to use the pot for the blueberry. If you look at what were small seedlings last weekend when my Mistress had to transplant them, the peas, cauliflowers and broccoli look amazing now and I’m actually starting to believe that before we’ve finished there might be something my Mistress can eat on them. Ironically it will be the strawberries that are ready first and she can’t actually eat them!

Aristotle went to have his blood test yesterday to make sure there is no problem with his liver after his allergic episode last week. He hasn’t had the results yet, but we are all hoping there is no long term damage. He says he’s feeling fine now, which is a good start. If his test doesn’t show his liver back to normal then he has to have another test next week, or more to the point two one before eating and one afterwards. He’s not going to be happy if that has to happen – two blood tests in one day is a bit much!

We have got back to the point of understanding that when my Mistress is on the phone we should be quiet… unless it is within one hour of our meal time! If you ring then there isn’t a hope of my Mistress being able to hear you over the din of us reminding her not to get carried away and forget to feed us. She’s almost at the point where for that hour she’s just going to let the answerphone take the call.
