In sheer desperation we have resorted to looking for long range weather forecasts to see if we are ever going to have anything other than winter. We found several that suggested that June to August may be a little above average temperatures for the time of year, but that so might rainfall be in the latter two of the three. It had all started when someone pointed out that it will be less than a month before the nights start to get shorter again. What do you do? I’ve contemplated both emigration and hibernation, but the second of those only works if I can still get up for mealtimes.
We had a call from Megan to say she is fine and off to the seaside for the weekend. She is looking forward to playing ball on the beach and generally having a good time. I think she was trying to make us jealous and to be honest she may have succeeded just a little bit. I’m now badgering my Mistress to play ball with me here. I’ve not really been myself since my upset with Shadow. I don’t know whether to bark all the time to make myself sound big or slink off into the other room so I am on my own. I don’t really like either option. I think I’m going to ask my Mistress to put a bed for me right by her side so that I can feel safe in my little corner by the desk. It just means I risk my paws being run over every time she moves her chair, but that’s the risk you take. It has to be better than things are at present as I’m making myself miserable and from my Mistress’s reaction I don’t think she’s overly pleased with me either.
