Wednesday 22nd May 2013 – A good news day

Oh where do I start? I guess the most important is to tell you that Megan is starting to feel better and is happily beginning to eat her usual food. We were all delighted to hear that she was on the mend and send her our very best wishes for a continued recovery, back to her old annoying self! Then there is the good news that Shadow passed her eye test and there is no change in her eyes from when they were tested a year ago, which means she will now be able to go forward and plan her next litter of puppies for later this year. The serious business of choosing her new boyfriend can begin now, but I’m not part of that decision.

Now for the news you’ve all been waiting for – the parsnips are through! That completes the set in the vegetable trough. It’s still early days and it’s going to be a long while before I can report that there is anything edible – except of course by Aristotle who’d be happy to eat the compost never mind the plants. One of today’s plans is to thin the ones that need thinning and the good news is that the ones thinned out aren’t going to waste. My Mistress’s physio, who she’s getting to know rather better than she expected, had all her cauliflower plants eaten by some nameless creature and so my Mistress said she would take some of hers to replace them. I think she’s hoping that if she’s nice to the physio then the sessions might be less painful – I don’t suppose for a minute that that will be the case! I’ve never heard of trying to bribe the physio before – but I guess anything is worth a try.
