Wednesday 17th April 2013 – One of those days

It was never going to be a good day yesterday. I realised that when we first got up and Shadow was insistent in sticking her bottom in my face. That’s the problem with living with breeding bitches, they get these urges and on some days they are simply overwhelmed by them. There is one day in each of their seasons when they become insufferable. My Mistress said that it was better that it was me she was targeting seeing as Ari is her son, but quite frankly it would be better if she’d leave us both alone. It got worse as my Mistress was in London for the day and had to leave us at home. We weren’t left to our own devices thankfully, but it’s never a good day if my Mistress isn’t close by my side. She showed me the bit in the presentation she gave last Saturday which says that the bond between and Entlebucher and his owner is almost ‘pathological’ and she said that was me! She’s probably right, but I like being close to her.

My Mistress’s day got off to a bad start when she had an alarm clock malfunction. It wasn’t that the alarm clock didn’t go off, it was that it went off too early. She could have sworn she set it to go off at 6.30 but it jumped into life at 6. Normally she’d just have hit snooze but she didn’t realise so got up and went straight into the shower. She only realised what had happened when she came out of the shower and it was only 6.20. I suggested there may have been a time warp while she was in there.

When she got to the station she couldn’t get her ticket becaue her credit card has changed and ended up having an argument with the woman in the ticket office, which is never a good start to the day either. However, the main problem was that when she went out with us first thing it was shaping up to be a nice warm day. Somewhere between that and going to the station the clouds came over and a cold wind had started. Sadly she was in a summery cardigan over a thin t shirt and she was very cold. When she got to London and saw the length of wait for the taxi she went to the shops in the station concourse and found one selling jumpers, bought one, put it on and then went to join the queue. She’s quite pleased with her new purchase, so perhaps it wasn’t such a bad day after all.
