Wednesday 27th March 2013 – Ironic

My Mistress is not going to be happy. We have a lovely outside clock which hangs above the garage so you can see it from the kitchen and from down the garden. It’s one of these two sided station clocks. In October my Mistress couldn’t be bothered to get the ladder out to change the time on it when the clocks changed. She argues that the time would be correct on it again at the end of March and at that point I couldn’t fault her theory. However the clock is now only right twice a day and that’s not going to change at the weekend when the clocks change! It has stopped and must need a new battery. I suppose the good news is that she can put the time right at the same time as changing the battery, but the bad news is she now has to go up the ladder.

She has arrived in Ireland safely. The journey wasn’t much fun, there was snow everywhere and lots of traffic but she said the actual crossing was surprisingly smooth.  She was expecting much worse as it was really bad the only other time she’s been to Ireland. She said the worst bit of her day, apart from her hand hurting, was that the cool box got carried away and froze all her food. Cold pasta for tea is not much fun at the best of times never mind when it’s frozen. When I spoke to her she was using the hotel desk lamp to try to thaw out her food. She’d also concluded it was too cold and, miserable to go out for the evening so she was curled up with a good book but no dog. Perhaps she should have collected Amigo yesterday so that she’s got some company for the evening!
