My Mistress thinks that Shadow’s season will start any day now, to describe her as one hormonal would be an understatement. She spent yesterday completely on edge barking at every passing bird or for that matter cloud, and bouncing around the office as though she were on springs. In the end I Mistress had to send her into the other room to calm down. She was told she could come back when she could behave like a civilised dog. You should have heard the range of noises that she made while she was banished. She was positively singing and almost as annoying as she had been when she was in the same room as us. I wouldn’t mind so much but my Mistress and Aristotle will get a couple of days break from her at the end of the week, whereas I will have to put up with her company all on my own. Some things in life are really not fair.
My Mistress has had an idea how she can manage to carry the things that she needs later in the week more easily. There is no reason why Aristotle cannot wear Megan’s rucksack to carry his own things to make it easier for my Mistress. As long as she can pack both sides of the rucksack evenly he could carry his own blanket, food and bowl, and a bottle of water. It is a shame that he will not be able to carry everything for both of them. My Mistress just need to wash all the mud off it from the last time that Megan used it. I am going to lend my Mistress my lovely rucksack from the Pedigree joint care trial which has my name embroidered on it. At least I will be in her thoughts even if I can’t be with her.
