Friday 21st December 2012 – Basil the wrestler

Yesterday we watch Basil ferociously wrestling with their tiny cuddly polar bear. You will be pleased to know he won and no pain was inflicted on the polar bear. He has also been rearranging the papers in the pen into a different pattern, one that involves shredding them and hiding cuddly toys and his brothers and sisters under whole sheets.

Britannia came out for a while and spent time with me and Aristotle. She had been sitting nose to nose with Ari for a while and he was starting to ask how old he had to be to have a puppy of his own. You will be pleased to hear the answer was that he would never be that old and we have more than enough dogs to be going on with. Britannia was great. She was completely unphased by either her brother or me.

The puppies have been eating heartily since the change in food to puppy food. They love it. They have almost cleaned their bowls at each meal, even when my Mistress has increased the quantity. What was funny earlier was that my Mistress decided that as they were eating more she would make up the puppy food in larger quantities so that she didn’t have to keep cleaning the blender after each small amount. It would have been a good plan if the bowl hadn’t been so full that when she put the hand held blender onto it, she shot it all over herself and the kitchen wall. Her time saving theory rather backfired!

All being well they will try their collars on for the first time in the next few days. They are just puppy collars to get them used to wearing one, so that they won’t be too distressed when they have to wear them when they head off home. My Mistress only puts them on for short bursts of supervised time, partly to get them used to them and partly so they don’t end up hurting each other. I’ll have to tell you who has which colour so you can pick them out on the camera.
