There are less than two weeks until Christmas and Ari is drawing up a final list of things he would like from Santa. He’s a sweet little thing and isn’t setting his sights too high. He’d like a new soft toy to replace the deceased grey bear, a bigger crate to sleep in at night and some more steak. I did explain to him that turkey is pretty cool too and there’s usually more of that going at Christmas. I know there are times I just want to be left alone and there are times I’d still like to have my Mistress to myself, but overall I do rather like the little fellow. To my Mistress’s amazement I even gave him the treat I was given yesterday as he didn’t have one. You can call me a soppy old dog if you like, but he looked so sad and to be honest I’ve put a bit on around the middle these last few weeks so I could afford to share. We put one of the Santa hats that we had last Christmas and took his photo. I have to say it probably fits him a little better than it fitted me and he looks quite cute in it. I
dared him to wear it to go out tomorrow, but he said he thought he’d look silly and then looked at my Mistress in her Santa earrings and hat and said that maybe he wouldn’t look quite so silly by comparison.
The tree is up in the hall. As with every year, my Mistress thinks about doing some trendy theme of a specific colour for the decorations and every year she looks in the bags of what there is available and simply adds it all to the tree. It’s actually quite a big tree, about as wide as it is high and then there is a little one outside the front door too. That one is in a pot and might grow if we keep it watered. Which reminds me, I’ve forgotten to water it already so I had better go and do it. We’ve still got the outside lights to put up, but my Mistress said she needed to feel a bit better before she could do that. I think she might give it a try today.
