9.45am Saturday

I am driving everyone nuts, pacing up and down like an expectant father outside the delivery room. I told my Mistress that from the smell of where Shadow peed this morning, it isn’t going to be long now. I’d chew my claws, but there is already not a lot of them left! My Mistress, on the other paw is going for the absent minded approach. She made a pot of coffee without remembering to close the container with the filter in. That serves 2 very useful purposes. Firstly it makes the water taste of coffee and secondly it directs the water flow into the jug. I’ll leave you to imagine the frustration and disappointment of fresh hot water all over the side in the kitchen. When she made a fresh batch, she had it on the side as she got a tablet out of the blister wrapping and managed to shoot it straight into her coffee. Given the tablet needed to be taken whole and the coffee was meant to taste good, that cup was poured away and she started again.

We’ve checked Shadow’s temperature and spoken to the vet and because she is still 5 days early we shouldn’t be worrying yet. Of course that isn’t stopping us worrying and my Mistress will be a nervous wreck by the end of the process.
