I’m not sure whether this is victory for the dog or whether I should be concerned. My Mistress was supposed to be going away this weekend but she is worn out and says she needs to relax, recover and mainly sleep. I’m always up for the sleeping bit and plan to join in at every opportunity. I do feel sad that having looked forward to going away with my little car she now won’t get to do it. I suppose it has been a good deadline to get my little car operational by and it is now fully fit for the rest of the summer.
We went out in my little car together for the first time in ages this week. I don’t really fit on the seat anymore and if I were being generous I would probably give the car to Megan, who’s a little bit smaller than I am. I can’t quite bring myself to do that yet. Anyway, while we were out we saw Mr and Mrs Swan walking their cygnets down the main road. My Mistress was really rather worried about them. There were four little ones behind one swan and then four behind the other one. They were walking in a very straight line but in so much danger. The problem is that swans with young ones can be quite aggressive and my Mistress didn’t know how to approach them. For some reason they were walking away from the lake where they usually live. I wanted to go back that way later to check they were ok but we were going a different route.
This weekend there is an event taking place that really sounds like my type of thing, although a bit of a contradiction. It’s the Knaresborough bed race. I would like to be in one of the beds being pushed rather than doing the pushing. I wondered if I could put wheels on my favourite dog bed and get my Mistress to take me, but I think I may be out of luck.
