I know when to keep my head down. For reasons she has failed to explain to me my Mistress is feeling a bit down about life at the moment. At times like this, except for giving her the odd cuddle and allowing her to stroke me when she needs to, I have long since learnt that the best course of action is to stay out of the way. The good news is she is never down for long, so I am hoping that she will be more bouncy again tomorrow.

I’m not sure if I told you but my Mistress has decided to have proper keyboard lessons and starts on Friday. She has selected as her tutor a bloke who played in rock bands for thirty years so I’m guessing that may dictate the style of music she is planning to play. I’ve asked if I could go out for the afternoon. I don’t really mind where, just out. Unfortunately she said she was banking on me being around. I don’t mind too much until they start playing notes above middle f on the keyboard. Above that it hurts my ears and I’d rather be elsewhere. If she were to move everything down an octave I’d be fine.

We have started work on revising my woodland stories and the exciting thing is that my Mistress says we can publish them in my name. Do you think I should use Einstein van de Tiendenschuur, being my proper name or would Alfie Dog look more approachable? I guess if I ever write any scientific papers I should perhaps do those under my full name. They might carry more weight that way. My Mistress has also had an idea of a setting for her new book. She doesn’t want to say too much yet, but apparently we are going to have to do lots of research for this one and maybe just a little bit of travel.
