I’m off to see the Matterhorn today. I’m quite excited. I’m going by train. There is a funicular railway that goes part way up but I’m not sure if we’re doing that bit. It depends on whether my Mistress has the courage and whether they allow dogs. It will be nice to have a day where I’m the only dog and don’t have to share my Mistress’s affection. I forgot to tell you just how scratched and bruised she got when Megan saw her for the first time on Sunday. To say Megan was excited would be a huge understatement. When you are special to a dog, that feeling never goes way. Poor dear Megan, I hope that she is happy in her new home. It’s such a shame we couldn’t get on, but we both want our Mistress to ourselves and that really doesn’t work.

Yesterday was mostly spent in the shade relaxing and intermittently chasing after a couple of girls, as you do. I’m getting on quite well with one of Megan’s sisters and an older girl called Sira. Obviously it is not the same as it was with my girlfriend and I don’t want her to worry, but it’s nice to be around some gentle girls who want to play with me. You’re never really too old to play. My Mistress bought me some vanilla biscuits and a lovely new harness too. I’ve been wearing Aristotle’s as mine is too big, but my new one is blue rather than black, which looks very nice. I thought I’d blown my chance of having biscuits after yesterday’s incident, but thankfully my Mistress is soft and gives in to my big brown eyes way to easily. She won’t let me eat them all at once though!
