You will be pleased to know that I am improving. I’m not really myself again yet but I’m not anyone else either, which has to be something. I’m having to move around very gingerly but I can at least move around, which is an improvement in itself. After the sedative at the vet I was very uncomfortable and didn’t know what to do with myself. I was also very drowsy. I was just standing there and apparently I fell asleep on my feet a couple of times. The first I knew about it was when the pain shot through me as my front legs had given way after I’d dozed off.
Yesterday was the start of preparations for the litter in two weeks’ time. The first phase of furniture moving has taken place. The freezer and fridge have come out of the utility and the big arm chair which was in the corner outside the utility has moved to the office. In turn it has replaced a spare dog bed that has been put away. Lots of other things have moved out of the utility too and things have been put away that have sat around for months. Then the whelping box and lots of things were brought in from the summerhouse and disinfected. Now my Mistress just needs to remember whether screw A attaches panel B to part C or whether it’s screw J attaching panel B to part E! There are so many combinations she could try before it turns out right! Shadow isn’t going to start sleeping in it for another week or so, so there is still a little bit of time to play with. There’s still my Mistress’s bed to move downstairs and plenty of other things. Ari thinks it’s exciting as it means he gets to sleep in a different room and won’t have to go to bed so early.
