Amigo is back in England. He had a flying visit to say hello to us all before going to his new home with our friend Avril. He seemed very relaxed and happy to be here so we are hoping he is going to settle in without any trouble. He certainly knew where he was and hadn’t forgotten any of us. It’s funny, when he was here before he was much bigger than Aristotle. That was partly because he was badly overweight but it was also that Ari still had a lot of growing to do. Now they are practically the same size and were it not for the fact that Amigo’s tail curls too much further it might be hard to tell them apart. His coat is longer and not as velvety as Ari’s. He’s going to be living with an 18 stone Rottweiler called Diesel so there will be someone to keep him company and keep him in his place when necessary.
The journey home wasn’t much fun. They came on the fast ferry. It’s fast because it’s a lot smaller and lighter. The good news is that means it moves more quickly, but the bad news is that it rolls rather more with the high seas. My Mistress did not feel well by the time she got off. Then with the snow all the way home she had had enough by the time she got here. At least she has a few days of not having to be the driver before she has to go to collect Megan. She’s looking forward to her Swiss trip and meeting lots of people and dogs that she doesn’t see very often. I just wish I could go. I’m going to Belgium in the summer so I can’t really complain.
