Tuesday 26th March 2013 – Now here’s the dilemma

The fast ferries have not been running because of the high winds. The weather forecast for today is only about a mile or two slower in wind speed. The last time I checked it seemed to say that the fast ferry would be running. The question is, even if it is, would you want to travel on it? If only a mile or two in wind speed is the difference between safe and not safe wouldn’t you on balance decide that the longer heavier ship crossing might just be the answer? My Mistress is setting off in time for the earlier slower crossing and presuming she doesn’t meet too much snow on the way she’ll see when she gets there. I’m sure she’ll be ok but a dog’s entitled to worry. At east she’s packed some warm clothes and some food just in case there are any unexpected turns of events.

You might enjoy reading my friend Bella’s diary from yesterday. Bella discovered the meaning of revenge and I can only say how proud of her I am. It shows she is growing up into a fine dog who can think for herself even in stressful situations. Well done, Bella. Sadly food is not left unattended in our house. With 4 of us to worry about my Mistress learnt a long time ago that the only safe place for food is hidden in a cupboard that none of us dogs and none of the humans would think to look in. You’d be amazed where she stashes things. I do my best to follow her round when she puts things away, but to be fair she’s even wise to us having any idea what she’s doing so on the whole we have to resort to hunting, which of course just makes us feel justified in eating anything we do find.
