Hedgehog escapes

It seems the pond is set up for hedgehog escapes. Mum is still investigating the best solution for Shadow but there is a ledge all the way around. It’s not really a Shadow sized ledge, but Mum thinks the risk on the far side is fairly low. If you go around the edge of the pond there are even places that are easy for animals to get down to the water to drink. Of course, one of the problems has been Shadow thinking she can get a drink but trying in the wrong places. We’re very glad that other wildlife will be safe but there is still work needed for elderly dogs.

Co-existing with wildlife

We’re not really that good at co-existing with the wildlife in the garden. Every time we get the scent of where something has been we get a bit over-excited looking for it. In general those with any sense give us a wide birth. It’s a shame, but it’s the way we are. Mum tells us about the Bearded Collie she had years ago who wasn’t a bit like us in that regard. He would just make friends with anything and everything. I can see that might be nice, but I have these urges and there’s not a lot I can do about them. Of all of us, Ari is the only one who isn’t so bothered.

Painting

Mum is fed up as her paint has not arrived. She wanted to get the stencils done before Dad goes away, so he could see what they look like. We got a notice that the delivery would be made on Wednesday and then it wasn’t and now it’s showing as not having a delivery date. I know in the scheme of things it’s not important but it would be nice to get at least one job finished in the house.
