I’ve been rumbled

I’ve been rumbled. Do you remember the lengths Mum went to in order to find a crate I couldn’t get out of? Mum bought a crate from Switzerland. I measured the space and the crate was the right size. Mum thought it was safe. Well, I’ve been working hard to outwit her. Yesterday she decided to do a thorough clean in the room where it lives under a worktop. She took everything out.

That was when she found two things out. Firstly, there is a panel in the back which can be removed and which is held in place by two screws. You don’t need a screwdriver, you can just turn them with your paw. They fasten from the outside but I’d got one of those out completely and was only a turn or two off doing the other one.

The Side

The side of the crate has some nice thick bars. Totally strong and rigid. No room for manoeuvre there. Wrong! Mum realised from the bend in them and the teeth marks that I was working on those as well.

The back panel is firmly screwed back on, for the time being. As far as the bars are concerned, Mum has me down and explained that I’m risking hurting myself. I said there is a simple solution, just don’t ask me to spend any time in the crate when I don’t feel like it. We’ve got a standoff going on. You know who’s going to win, don’t you?

Wildlife

Mum and I sat watching the garden yesterday. It is teeming with wildlife. I had to be prevented from going out to chase them all so we could watch, but seeing what pleasure it was giving Mum, even I could be persuaded not to go after them. Mum can’t wait for Dad to bring her camera home so she can try to get some pictures of them all.
