Feeling glum
We’re all feeling glum with Dad having gone away again. The house is a much happier place when he’s around. I know he’ll be back soon, but I wish he didn’t have to go away at all. Aristotle’s eye is still hurting him, which isn’t helping. It’s not as bad as it was but it certainly isn’t better yet. He’s still being a goody four paws and letting Mum put the cream in his eye without any complaint at all. The vets think he’s a model patient, but then they don’t have to live with him.
Yesterday’s walk
Mum and I did go out for or first October walk yesterday. It was horribly windy weather, which meant we could hardly hear each other as we chatted away. To be fair, Mum did most of the talking, but then she usually does. She also tried to listen to an audio book for some of the way, but that’s hard through ear muffs to keep the wind out.
Anyway, yesterday’s was the local circuit from the house. It turns out that is 2.27 miles. Mum doesn’t like taking me on that one very often, because parts of it are on the road or along the side of the road, and I’m not really keen on traffic. Being a Saturday, yesterday was quite quiet, so it was ok.

Plan for today
Today Mum wants to catch up on some of the little jobs around the house and in the garden. We are planning to go out for a walk later but haven’t decided where. Mum says we might just do the other local one, which is along the lane opposite as her knees are hurting a bit so she doesn’t want to do one on rough ground. She’s also hoping that some of the other walks will have fewer people around on a weekday. We’ve got lots of different places planned. I just keep asking if we can go back to the race course as I liked it there.
