Getting fractious – Wednesday 20th July 2022

Getting fractious

We were getting fractious by the end of yesterday. Actually, let’s be honest, it was a lot sooner than the end of the day. It turns out if you shut three normally active dogs and an active human in a room for three days and turn the temperature up, tempers begin to flare. I wanted to go out. Mum wouldn’t let me. I barked, Shadow barked. Shadow had no idea why she was barking but was feeling thoroughly fed up with it all. Ari spent a fair bit of time in his crate, otherwise he got on everybody’s nerves. I said I’d go in the crate if it meant having a biscuit, but he wasn’t having any of that.

Teatime

It took until teatime for us all to get really fed up. We didn’t really know what to do with ourselves. It was so hot when we went out at lunch that Mum just marched us out and back again. By teatime I really wanted to stay out a little longer, but Mum wasn’t having any of it. She told me to wait just another few hours and things would improve. I’d run out of patience. To be fair, I don’t have a lot of patience to begin with, so it runs out pretty quickly.

In amongst all of that Mum’s computer decided to go on the blink. She’s known it’s been temperamental for a while. She’s had it for five years and she thinks my paws aren’t as gentle on the keyboard as they might be. I only have to use her computer because Alfie’s old computer fell apart in my paws. I’m sure it wasn’t my fault.

Anyway, Mum seems to think she’s going to have to buy a new one and she hates changing computer.

Then evening came

Oh the blessed relief when evening came and the temperature finally started to drop. I just wanted to stand outside and have it rain all over me. Mum didn’t think that was such a good idea. She’s promised that today we will have lots of outdoor time to make up for the insanity of the last few days. I can’t wait.

Love
