Wrong wind
We had the wrong wind yesterday so Mum’s plan of balloon watching didn’t work out. The weather forecast is for the wind to be the same way today and tomorrow too, so it’s not looking good. We did spend all afternoon and evening outside anyway, so it was just as good at least from our perspective. Ari eventually got the marrows planted so he was happy. Shadow was pleased that for a change she didn’t have the wrong type of wind, so she was happy, Me? I’m just happy by nature. I barked a bit, ran around a lot and generally kept an eye on everyone.
Marigolds
Ari is a bit fed up about his marigold seeds. They germinated, that wasn’t the problem. His annoyance is that he carefully planted them all in seed trays, whilst Mum put was left straight into the ground a couple of weeks or more later. He wants to know why his are only the same size as the ones Mum put in when he has done more work and had to water them every day. There is a lesson in that, which I hope he remembers for next year. Sow marigolds outside and don’t bother putting them in seed trays first.
Corgis
We did remember to raise a glass to celebrate with our Corgi friends yesterday. I have to say, if you are going to have a breed to be your head of state, then a Corgi is not a bad choice. They, like their amazing human, Her Majesty the Queen, are hard working and diligent, and patient with a lovely personality. Corgis even come in similar colours to us and given how short Shadow is, they can look a little like her. Dad has always liked Corgis, but he still says we can’t have one at the moment.
