Woman versus machine – Tuesday 3rd May 2022

Woman versus machine

It’s woman versus machine here and round one has gone to the machine. Don’t worry, nothing bad has happened. The greenhouse is still in one piece and none of us has been injured. Mum braced herself to get the big mower out yesterday. It was the first time she had done it on her own. On the plus side she had huge fun riding round the garden on it. On the down side she completely failed to pick up any of the grass cuttings. Oh she tried. She even resorted to reading the manual, and that’s real desperation in this house. Her conclusion is that there is a blockage and it needs clearing, but try as she might she can’t get to it.

Old friends

Mum is back to using her old friend the small electric mower and taking six hours to cut the grass. She’s happy. In reality we’re happy as it means more time together outside. She’s forming a plan for the other mower. She thinks it may need to be turned over to get to the part that’s blocked. Before she does that she needs it to run out of fuel. She’s going to ride around just for the fun of it until the tank runs out of fuel. I did ask what happens if it runs out a long way from the shed and then she can’t fix it. She is going to worry about that if it happens.

Meanwhile

Meanwhile it was a very odd afternoon with a visit from my human aunt. I haven’t seen her for ages. I’m very fond of her as she came to pick me up from Switzerland when I was a puppy. Oddly she came, set a tent up in the garden and then put it away again. It was something to do with needing an open space to set it up and make adjustments, but it struck me as odd. I’d quite like to go on a holiday in a tent, but Mum says it will have to be with someone other than her, so that’s out.

  1. Hi Wilma,
You can go camping with me when we eventually go. We have a bell tent so you can keep watch at the ‘door’. You’d love it?.

    • Thank you. I’m off to pack my little bag so that I’m ready. I hope you like playing ball.
      Love
      Wilma
