We love the sunshine – Monday 28th February 2022

We love the sunshine

We love the sunshine. It makes everything seem so much better. It was hard having to say goodbye to Dad yesterday, but the afternoon outside in the garden certainly cheered us all up a bit. After I’d had a good run around and barked at everything, I sat guarding the parsnips while Mum did some work. To be honest I felt tired just watching her. You may remember that the shed which is now the ticket office used to be the piggery. There were two holes in the side of it for the pigs to go in and out. Mum decided that yesterday was the day to sort out the holes.

It means her sawing and hammering and doing lots of other things that oddly make her happy. She didn’t even hit her fingers with the hammer, which is pretty good for her. Although, she did trap one finger in the step ladder when she closed it up after repairing the guttering on the house.

The week ahead

Unfortunately there’s rain forecast most of this week, so I guess it’s back to helping with the decorating. Ari has asked if he can go when Mum takes Granny to visit Grandpa in hospital. We all think that’s a good idea as he starts howling when he’s expecting his tea and Mum isn’t back yet. It’s getting pretty annoying if I’m honest. He’ll have to sit in the car the whole time, but he’s cool with that.

I don’t think we’ve got any exciting plans really. I’ll be counting off the days until Dad comes home again. I’ve been all around the house several times to check in case he’s hiding somewhere, but he really isn’t. I wish he didn’t go away. Shadow’s pretty down about it really too.

Love
