We were helping – Thursday 13th January 2022

We were helping

Whatever Mum says we were helping. Mum finally got around to doing the next stretch of fencing. It was such a lovely day that we all wanted to do it. The problem was that when she had to squeeze through the undergrowth to get to the fence, having us three trot past was not helpful. We could fit through the gaps more easily. Come to that we didn’t get brambles caught in our fur in the way they did with her hair either. Then there was the problem of four of us getting very close in a confined space whilst she tried to hammer the staples in.

Looking on the bright side she did enjoy using her Christmas presents which were a smock and a tool belt. She said the tool belt made things much easier.

Helping Dad too

We weren’t just helping Mum. We were helping Dad too. Shadow spent some of the time just trying to side near him – very near him. He was trying to shred garden rubbish and kept tripping over her. The weather forecast is good for today too so we’re hoping to be helping again. Mum is hoping to do the next stretch of fence and Dad is doing more shredding. We’re going to put the Wind in the Willows characters in position too – although at the moment we have different views over where they should go.

Mum loves the weather being clear and sunny. When it’s like this she’s happy to be outdoors even more than we are. I hope it’s like this every day. That is one of the things we both love about my homeland of Switzerland. The weather is just so much sunnier there. England can be very gloomy by comparison. We need to make the most of every sunny day.

Love
