Positive thoughts to Winston
We need you all to send positive thoughts to Winston. We have told you what he’s up to from time to time as he writes to us from the exciting places he lives in. He’s sent us his photo at the Sydney Opera House and his new home in Canada when he moved. Unfortunately, he now has lymphoma. He has been having chemotherapy which thankfully is not as much an ordeal for a dog as it is for a human. He has been staying well and cheerful in himself, but the chemotherapy is not working for him anymore. He’s been on treatment since the spring and it has enabled him to go on enjoying life so far.
Being stoic
He’s even been playing at the dog park in Toronto for hours and finding willing strangers to throw his ball when his human needed a rest. The vet is amazed at how he keeps going, but that’s the nature of our breed. Our vet used to say we were stoic. His blood tests and ultrasound suggest things aren’t good, so pleas think of him when you put your paws together later.
More positive news
Aristotle is happy to report he has more positive news on the cuttings we brought from the old garden. When we first moved in, Mum didn’t have much chance to do anything with them. Aristotle kept reminding her, but you know what humans can be like. Anyway, he eventually got her to move both those and the house plants into the signal box a.k.a greenhouse and they are looking much better and most of them are even alive. He says he’ll keep them in the greenhouse over the winter and plant them properly in spring.
Much as I’m happy about that, I’m happy about the nice warm boots Mum has bought so she can spend more time outside without complaining her feet are cold. I’m all in favour of being outdoors as much as possible.

Dear Winston, I am sending you a virtual ball all the way from Corsica, France, for you to play with, I hope it makes you smile ! You are in my thoughts and prayers and I wish you all the best. Miracles do happen, sometimes in a very subtle, discreet, indirect manner. Remember though that you come from strong stock and this is a definite PLUS. Prayers are a great help too and I will pray for you.
There is this wonderful website, Mercola Healthy Pets, that is my Bible. It has all sorts of positive advice and insights into health and diet. Your human may want to have a look too if they haven’t already.
