Cheesecake Incidents – Saturday 26th December 2020

Cheesecake incidents

There were two cheesecake incidents yesterday. Don’t worry, the cheesecake is fine. I just can’t say the same about Mum. Firstly the base had stuck to the plate so she was a bit enthusiastic with the knife when trying to cut it. Despite the blood everywhere, it wasn’t too serious. Nothing that pressure, Germolene, steristrips and plasters couldn’t sort out anyway. I had visions of her having to go to casualty and then explaining she’d been attacked by a cheesecake.

The Bailey's Cheescake which is to be held responsible for the cheesecake incidents

You would think that having eaten a quarter of it for breakfast, that would have been enough for Mum for the day. You’d be wrong. She had another quarter in the afternoon. Actually, no she put another quarter in her bowl. She failed to eat it all. Part way through she had an upset stomach and then needed a lie down. She has no idea what could have made her ill. Now, let me see…

Family

It was a lovely family day overall. I know that sounds odd as we were on our own. However, Mum made full use of the telephone, Zoom and Alexa and even had lunch with her parents 120 miles away. It’s funny hearing a prayer of gratitude that includes modern technology as one of the most important things to be grateful for. We’ve got an important Zoom call again later. More a party than just a call. You see, it’s Dad’s birthday. Happy Birthday, Dad. We miss you and we’re all looking forward to singing to you later. We may not be synchronised when we sing, we may not be in tune, but we will be sincere!

Cuddles

The other thing there was a lot of yesterday was cuddles. You can never have enough of those. It really was a very cuddly sort of a day. I think I’d quite like every day to be like that, but maybe without the cheesecake.

  1. Hi Wilma, please can you send Birthday wishes to your Dad from me when you speak later. Hope your Mum is feeling better today. Have not been out yet but I think it is going to be another cold walk – I like that, much better than rain. It must be our Swiss roots. Love to you all, have a great day Dickens XX

    • Thank you, Dickens. I’ve just rung and sung to him. I gave him your message too and he said it was lovely, thank you.
      Love Wilma

  2. Hi Wilma. Tell mum to look up and make the Biscoff cheescake. Also tell her that my humans No2 daughter gave him a copy of your mums Entlebucher book for Christmas, and No1 daughter gave him Linda Liebrand’s book. Perhaps he’ll understand better now as to what makes me tick. Could have saved £400 on training fees! Happy New Year….x
Also tell mum to tell Mr Chris that my human wasn’t having a op at him on FB the other day, just at an overall culture on that Brexit thingy. He says he’s sorry if he appeared rude,

    • Happy reading. You will find two quite different views of us from the books. I suspect that Linda’s will help you understand your Alfie as it’s based on his brother! I think Mum’s may help you understand Dexter.
      Lots of love
      Wilma
ps Mum appreciated you apologising about the being rude thing.
