On his birthday we are remembering Alfie

Today on his birthday we are remembering Alfie. It would have been his birthday today. I thought I’d bring you a Friday flashback with a difference. Here are pictures from each of Alfie’s years of life with us. He was such a special boy. The rest of us try to live up to his ideals but we can’t always manage it. Actually, if I’m being honest, I don’t think Shadow tries very hard to do that. Shadow is her own dog and nothing gets in her way.

2005 – 2010 remembering Alfie until he was five

Alfie’s first couple of years were spent with Mum and Dad living in Belgium. He moved with them to England in January 2008 when he was about the 10^th of our breed in the UK. He was one of the founder dogs of our Club and played an important part in the early years.

2010 – 2015 Alfie from five to ten years old

Having brought Shadow up, he went on to supervise her four litters of puppies and was a very happy step-father to all of them. He was the only one that Shadow allowed nearby when she was giving birth and he used to love saying hello to the little ones.

2015 – 2020 Ten to fourteen

He came with Mum to Switzerland to bring me home to England in 2015 and became my very best buddy. He was such an important part of my growing up. Alfie was also very generous in sharing Mum with me and never complained. He let me have the best of everything and always waited until I’d chosen before he stepped in… except with ice cream. He couldn’t resist ice cream and it would disappear in the blink of an eye. Actually, if I was daft enough to blink my eyes mine would go as well as his own.
