Repairing the Gate – Sunday 12th April 2020

Repairing the gate

Yesterday’s main excitement was repairing the gate. And before you ask, I did not break it. It just fell apart. It wasn’t the gate itself, it was the piece that holds it open. Mum told Dad it would only take five minutes. When has any diy job in this house only taken five minutes? First there was the drill, which goes back to when they lived in Belgium so needed an adaptor for the plug. The when Mum had found both an adaptor and an extension lead, the fact that the piece to let you put a drill bit in was missing meant they had to go back to the drawing board.

Anyway, this particular five minute job took an hour and meant my tea was late, so I was not impressed. There are a few other odd jobs which need doing around the house, which may take longer. I’ve asked if they could not start those quite so close to my mealtimes.

Shadow

Shadow used to like having time to herself. She seems to have gone off that idea entirely. Now she wants to be with me and Mum the whole time. On the odd occasions she needs to sit in the other room, she moans. When I say moans, I really mean she barks and is very annoying. Ok, so I’m doing much the same in my crate, but that’s different. I’ve never said I want any time on my own, not even five minutes.

We’re both getting very used to having Dad around as well as Mum. We really like it this way. It’s going to hit us hard when he says it’s time for him to go back to Switzerland. I don’t suppose that’s going to be just yet though.

Spending time with Dad

Have a happy Easter all of you

Love

  1. Hi Wilma, thank you for all your news. It is something I look forward to every day, just like humans reading the paper. It has been very sunny here so Dad has been doing jobs in the garden. I have been out to check he is OK but mainly have to be in my cage because of my poorly leg. HAPPY EASTER to all Entlebuchers and their families. Love Dickens XXXXXX

I’m sorry you’re spending so much time in a crate. Ari says he sends his sympathies and knows what it’s like. Get well soon.
      Happy Easter to you all.
      Love Wilma
