Help us compile a Best Presents Guide

Tell us about your best presents. Can you help us compile a best presents guide? We want to put together a guide chosen by you the dogs. We’re not interested in those useless things your humans thought were good and you walked away from. We want a first paw opinion of the very best presents a dog can have. If we get enough replies we’ll bring you a top ten of gifts every dog would like to find in his stocking for Christmas. There are no prizes for this one, just the knowledge you will be helping other dogs to have an exciting Christmas. Oh and if you’ve still got it, why not include a photo so we can show what it looks like. You can email them to us at alfie@alfiedog.me.uk.

Shadow’s Swimming

I didn’t get to go swimming with Shadow. It was all a bit of a disappointment really. It was one of those mornings where everything seemed to happen at once and Mum ran out of time. Alfie had been up in the office with Mum. This time he had his harness on so Mum could help him on the ramp and it did mean when he came down he didn’t catapult off the end, which was good. Unfortunately, he had a bit of a bladder control issue while he was in the office, which left Mum having to clear up after him at the same time the doorbell rang with a delivery and the phone rang. You know how it goes. By the time she’d done all that she was late leaving for swimming and simply told me I’d have to go another time. Well, you can imagine. There I was all ready and waiting and she said I couldn’t go. I don’t think she could possibly have realised how much I was looking forward to it.

A worrying turn of events

Of equal concern was the news that she has bought me two Christmas jumpers. Not content with looking ridiculous on her own, she now expects me to join in. Her tally of Christmas jumpers has reached seven so she doesn’t need to wear the same one twice in a week. I don’t know whether tacky Christmas jumpers are common in Switzerland, but I think we’re about to find out. Wish me luck!

Mine have not arrived yet. I will of course show you photographs when they do. The last one I had I outgrew long before adulthood, so I do hope she has bought a bigger size. Actually, scratch that, I’ll be quite happy to find they don’t fit and will then donate them to a homeless dog charity to help keep other dogs warm!

Love

Wilma

  1. Fear not, dear Wilma:
I’m looking forward to convincing you that there’s no place you’re safer from being bothered by tacky (are there others?) xmas-jumpers than here at your place of birth. Here in W. these things are definitively not en vogue.
    Mama Susi
(and Valeria; and Graziella, who’s with us for some time. She’s in season and had to be separated from her father, the fine stud dog Kimi, with whom she lives)

    • Oh but Mama, I’m sure you’ll like them and want one just like mine! Ok, so I’m only humouring Mum really, but it keeps her happy and that makes me happy. If I get enough mud on them I’m sure it will sort the problem.
      Love
      Wilma
