Happy 14th Birthday, Alfie – Wednesday 13th November 2019

Happy 14th Birthday, Alfie

Happy 14th Birthday Alfie. What an amazing day. We are so very very lucky to have him as part of our family. When Mum and Dad went to meet him for the first time all those years ago, it was Dad who picked him up and Alfie just relaxed in his arms immediately. Mum was cuddling his brother, but Dad said, ‘this one’ and Dad had such a happy look on his face that there was no way that Mum wouldn’t agree. She has never regretted that decision for one minute. She had wanted an Entlebucher Mountain Dog for years by the time Alfie came into her life and he has been everything she ever dreamed of.

Official Birthday Photo

Alfie is putting his paws up today and said he was most certainly not working on his birthday. He is planning to write something for you tomorrow about his secrets on living a long life, but he has given permission for me to unveil his official fourteenth birthday photo. Here you are the very special recreation of the picture he and Mum had taken fourteen years ago. I thought I’d show them one after the other so you could see just what an amazing job the photographer has done.

Steak not Cake

We are all having steak instead of cake to celebrate. As Mum pointed out it’s better for us, but that works out well as if we have the choice we’ll take the steak every time. Alfie is having most of it, but there is a little bit for the rest of us too. It’s going to be an extra special treat as we’re having it at lunchtime and I don’t normally have lunch.

Alfie has asked whether at the equivalent of his human birthday he will be sent a telegram by the queen. I said it was more likely to come from one of her Corgis, but he’s not sure that she’s still got any. He did say that in all honesty he’d be happy with a telegram from any Corgi, never mind the Queen’s ones. It will be another three of four months until he can claim that so I’m just putting you Corgis on standby.

Love

Wilma

  2. Happy Birthday Alfie!
I said I could give you a cat’s best washing as a birthday present but mum told me that you live too far away so this birthdaygreeting from Sweden will have to do.
Wishing you a very lazy birthday with a nice nap somewhere cosy – maybe you’ll recieve gifts in nice boxes, boxes are the best thing with birthdays I think!
