Mount Rigi – Monday 14th October 2019

Mount Rigi

Well what a day it was yesterday at Mount Rigi. We had a slowish start and I was starting to worry that it wasn’t going to be as much fun as Mum had promised. Then we set off about 11.30 to get the train up Mount Rigi. It nearly went wrong when a poodle swore at me in the car park and I felt obliged to reply. I don’t know why the poodle took against me on sight, but then it seemed to be that sort of dog. Mum was worried that I was going to misbehave on the train, so she took me right down to the far end away from any other dogs and I was as good as gold.

Mount Rigi

The views at the top of Mount Rigi were just amazing. There were quite a lot of people, but we found a table outside at the restaurant. It was 20 degrees and lovely sunshine. I sunbathed while Mum and Dad drank a bottle of wine and read. It was all very civilised. Every so often I got up for a cuddle and to check that Mum was ok, she was! We stayed up there for several hours and I was quite content to just chill out.

I was good on the way down until a dog got in to the carriage at the last but one stop. Mum kept me entertained for the rest of the journey so I didn’t have the opportunity to ‘make myself a nuisance’ – her words not mine!

Perfect end to the day

Then we called into home so I could have my tea and did a quick turn around so we could go up my mountain for sunset. It was lovely to have one last walk up there before I have to head back to England this time. We really don’t want to go, but we have to and I have to keep an eye on Mum so there is no point in me saying she could go without me. I shall be counting the days off on my paws until I can come back. It’s only a few weeks away as long as Alfie is well enough for us to leave him.

Love
